Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist. She has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years focusing on the people suffering from conflict zones as well as natural disasters. Curry covered the conflicts that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in Agana) was an American television reporter, anchor as well as a journalist. Her most renowned work was as a correspondent on The Today Show, which was a morning news show broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Her reporting stood out because of her coverage of human emergencies that took place in war-torn nations as well as natural catastrophes. Curry's father served as a sailor within the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. The couple met when their father was in Japan after World War II. Her first job led to a lucrative career by working as an intern in broadcasting for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news reporter at the station at the age of 22. Then, she was an anchor/reporter for KGW at Portland Oregon. In Los Angeles, she became a reporter at KCBS TV just four years after moving into the city. Through her tenure of six years with the station she was awarded 2 Emmy Awards.
